BUILDINGS
As in many modern
foundations, the centre of Whittingehame is a
traditional country house set in a spacious park,
this building containing common rooms, the
kitchen and dining rooms, the library, the sick
bay and accommodation for some resident teachers
and matrons and the younger boys.
The classrooms are in two nearby units. The
junior form rooms are situated in one quadrangle,
adjoining which are the Synagogue and gymnasium.
In another quadrangle are the senior dormitories
and other classrooms, including the extensive
laboratory block and other specialised rooms.
Buildings under construction include a dormitory
block, the first of a group of four, each of
which will incorporate accommodation for
house-masters and house-matrons. Other major
building projects are also envisaged.
HEALTH
There is a
qualified resident nurse and other assistant
matrons who supervise the medical care of pupils.
They work in close collaboration with the local
doctors who pay regular and frequent visits. |
