 my wife and I a healing centre from the old farmhouse on the Edwinsford estate, about 100 metres from the edwinsford mansion (now a ruin) where your school operated from 1940-1948(?). Are there any former pupil/even retired masters out there who can recall their time at edwinsford and fill me in with some "potted history" of their school days here?

 Just found the site. I suppose it is a function of age, but was upset to see that one of my contemporaries had died. Nowever many more are fine and I hope to contact some people in the future.

Having a second go as usual. I was there until the fateful day so forgive my poor memory. I would love to hear from anyone that remembers me, especially Ian Fenton, Isaac Lowenwurtz, Paul Levy, the Wintons, Shlomo Ambalom (Tony Umbalo I think he's now called ) Philip Trent, forgive my memory if I left you out!

I had a friend Isaac Lowenwurtz, whose mother was very ill and Jake took in Isaac into the school at his own expense. Isaac did not speak any English when he arrived but he was my real close friend nevertheless, and I would dearly love to be in touch with him. I think he emigrated to the USA. Also my great friend Ian Fenton, who I had many a stay over with during holidays.

 I was searching for something about Whittingehame College.  I searched for Jake Halevy and could not believe my eyes.  He was like a father to me. I was in Handcross Park School as it's now called, TODAY. I was welcomed and allowed to look around. The old tower is now gone, and the walled garden that was derelict has now been turned into a kindergarten, retaining the old walls and the beautiful fountain. Anyone remember the Blue stairs? They are still there but the doors have gone sadly. I have a school photograph for 1966 if any one would like a copy, I will enquire about price and get back to you. 'Little Fefer'

I had entered the site many times to view the pics, but never went to the guest book. I attended Handcross from 64-66.  I was 10-12 years old.  My friends were Paul Schafer, Michael Harris, Nunu Cohen and the Winton twins to name a few.
Attending  Whittingehame left me with great memories. My uncles Albert, Sami and Ebhu attended before me, and Jake always reminded me how good they were, somehow I never believed him.  Any Whits who were my age, feel free to contact me, and we can go over old times.

My first visit to the site.  What an amazing guy is our Eldon Smith.  All these years he and Ella have kept the Old Boys alive and active.  The two of them have traveled far and wide in pursuit of their ex pupils.  As for me, I arrived in a hostile country called Wales on a cold wet miserable day sometime in 1942.  It was a shock to the system, from which I have never recovered.  The Stone Hall and the musical society with the one record,  The Bolero.  Getting lost in the woods with my friend Arnold Frutin and nearly drowning in the nearby river.  Halcyon days. The school dance in the ballroom with Jake twirling one of the matrons around the floor, actually, he was a great dancer.  Yellow Peril from James for breakfast. All gone, but good memories.  Now it's the last supper at the Meridien, I hope to be there.

So glad I found this website. My only claim to fame at school was my fights with a guy called Israelichivili, and the acclaims when I used to box at the Dome in the schools name.  The school gave me my first taste of Zionism and I have been living on kibbutz now for 30 years.  Anyone who remembers me....I would love to hear from you.
